The Valley Center Parks and Recreation District, renamed in 2003, (formerly the Valley Center Community Services District), was formed in July of 1966. The District is governed by an elected Board of Directors consisting of five members. The community facilities are overseen by a General Manager, and District Secretary. The District provides park and recreational facilities for the people of Valley Center. The District boundaries comprise of approximately 100 square miles. The District is financed primarily through user fees and a small percentage of property tax revenue.

The location of the main office off Lilac Road provides a serene and beautiful setting for weddings, parties, corporate events, concerts, dances, reunions, barbeques, etc. Also available at this location are the athletic fields utilized by various organizations and the community. Please refer to the “Facilities” link to view what we have available.

The Valley Center Parks and Recreation District manages the oversight and maintenance of Adams Community Park, including the community pool. The Adams Park pool offers the community a myriad of water-related activities, including high school water polo, water aerobics/fitness, swimming lessons, among others, as well as recreational swim and reservation availability for private parties.
Additionally, the Valley Center Parks and Recreation District contracts with the County of San Diego for the management and oversight of Aerie Park (equestrian facilities) located off Betsworth and Aerie roads.
