The Valley Center Parks
and Recreation District, renamed in 2003, (formerly
the Valley Center Community Services District), was
formed in July of 1966. The District is governed by an
elected Board of Directors consisting of five members.
The community facilities are overseen by a General
Manager, and District Secretary. The District provides
park and recreational facilities for the people of
Valley Center. The District boundaries comprise of
approximately 100 square miles. The District is financed
primarily through user fees and a small percentage of
property tax revenue.
The location of the main
office off Lilac Road provides a serene and beautiful
setting for weddings, parties, corporate events,
concerts, dances, reunions, barbeques, etc. Also
available at this location are the athletic fields
utilized by various organizations and the community.

The Valley Center Parks
and Recreation District manages the oversight and
maintenance of Adams Community Park, including the
community pool. The Adams Park pool offers the community
a myriad of water-related activities, including high
school water polo, water aerobics/fitness, swimming
lessons, among others, as well as recreational swim and
reservation availability for private parties.
Additionally, the Valley Center Parks and Recreation
District contracts with the County of San Diego for the
management and oversight of Aerie Park (equestrian
facilities) located off Betsworth and Aerie roads. |
